Many homes in the Poconos have a grinder pump, but whether you are new to the Pocono region, or have lived here for many years, you may still be unsure as to what it is. The simple version of what a grinder pump is, is that it is like a garbage disposal, but for your entire house.  Anything that would be considered waste would go through your grinder pump. Most are found either in your home’s basement, garage, or outside of your home. A typical grinder pump should last 10 years, although we have seen many fail a lot sooner, and some that have lasted longer.
